Meet Evonne Jenkins-Hough

Founder of Insightful Journaling. Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW/LISW-CP). Certified Journal to the Self® Facilitator. Level II IFS Therapist.

I’ve always loved the way words could hold our truth. But for a long time, I journaled the way most people do – pouring my thoughts onto the page, hoping it would make things feel lighter. Sometimes it helped. Other times, I’d close the notebook feeling like I was still circling the same questions.

Then I learned intentional journaling techniques. Suddenly, the page became more than a place to vent – it became a place to discover. I could see patterns, hear my own wisdom, and make decisions from a clearer, kinder place. That’s when I knew: this is what I’m meant to share.

Why I Created Insightful Journaling

I started Insightful Journaling because I wanted to bring this kind of transformation to others – not just in therapy, but in everyday life.

In my work, I noticed a gap: people were leaving sessions inspired, but life’s noise would pull them away. I wanted to give them a bridge – something that could carry the insight from the session into their week, their choices, their relationships.

That bridge is the springboard.

Why Springboards Work

Prompts tell you exactly what to write about. Springboards invite you into a conversation with yourself. They don’t confine you – they open you up.

With springboards, your journaling isn’t just about what happened in your day. It’s about uncovering what you need to hear, exploring what matters most right now, and following the threads that lead to clarity.

And the beauty is: it works for everyone – individuals, therapists, and communities.

A Sacred Space for Black Women.

One part of my vision is deeply personal: Sacred Sound & Private Pages, a signature

Community by Insightful Journaling is a healing community for Black women.

It’s an intentional, members-only space where we gather for guided journaling, sound healing with crystal singing bowls, and heart-level conversations in small affinity groups. We connect across generations – from women in their 20s to those in their 60s and beyond – because we need each other’s wisdom, honesty, encouragement and collective energy.

This space exists because I know what it’s like to carry so much without a place to set it down. Here, we set it down together.
