I am Evonne Jenkins-Hough, a licensed clinical social worker/therapist, certified Journal to the Self facilitator, an avid journal writer and your new journal coach! I am a certified Level II Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist and love parts work. I am here to help you discover the transformative world of journaling. Whether you are journaling alone, complimenting the work you’re doing in therapy sessions, or looking to join a journaling circle for growth, journaling is a useful tool on your journey. Here, I combine my love for journaling and IFS to help you acknowledge all of the many facets that make up who you are as a person and to help you get into a better relationship with yourself.
My first journal, like many others, was a little diary with a mini lock and key. I always wrote too big for those little lines!! I have journaled since middle school and that was MANY years ago. Some of those years I was very active, like when I was depressed, deployed in the military, or going through a divorce. My journal helped through all of that. Later I found my journal had many, many more uses! I now use my journal for joyful times, to track what’s happening internally, as motivation, my voice of reason, my place to vent, decision making, when I am sad and more. Since becoming a mental health therapist, my journal has served me and my clients in countless ways. Because I have seen the growth in myself and my clients, I want to share this knowledge with you. Your journal can be used for whatever you want!
